HOLY MALONY

Being an Art History student automatically puts me in the box of art fanatic, however considering the 'history' side to my degree, I absolutely despise this new contemporary art thing. Well despise is a bit harsh.. lets go for dislike. Yeah, that's better. But, this all went on its head today when I found this guy when traipsing around the world wide web.

His name is Peter Callesen, and he makes exceptionally cool things out of single sheets of paper. Hell, I don't know why I'm rabbiting on about him when you can just see for yourself:











I just absolutely love how he doesn't just take in to consideration the figure he has carved out of the paper, but also the gap he has left. Complex talent out of such simple medium: I have no idea what the guys at work would do if I handed them a letter that I had carved into a beach-side resort or something. Awesome.
